
Caterpillar Global Mining Challenge
Caterpillar Global Mining (CGM) had identified a critical information need throughout their enterprise; to find current and accurate information in one safe source. As the global leader in the mining industry, Caterpillar saw the importance of providing their dealers with comprehensive information about their products and applications and for distributing a consistent sales message.
How Iona Helped
Iona interviewed key dealers and global sales representatives to determine the scope of content, the range of media assets required and the most effective distribution method. The dealers also needed a wide variety of digital media such as photos, electronic literature, videos, animations and illustrations to build their own presentations and proposals. The result of the research was the CGM Library of Technical Sales Presentations – a series of CD-based presentations and media libraries that can be utilized anywhere around the world including at remote mine sites that do not have internet access.
Connection Made
The modules that are “in the field” are drawing an immediate positive response and there are consistent requests for more titles. CGM dealers and sales representatives are now turning to these modules as a primary information resource to strengthen their effort to remain the global leaders in mining.
