Rawlings Sporting Goods is the maker of the official baseball of the major leagues and the most used glove in the league as well. Their products are the epitome of quality and tradition in the game today. Rawlings, as a high-end sporting goods manufacturer, was looking for an innovative marketing tool to target the youth sporting goods market and to deliver the message about the value of the Rawlings product line.

How Iona Helped

Iona approached Rawlings with a concept for the “Guide To Baseball” mini–CD. Creating a high-level design, content map and storyboards, Iona used our interactive development expertise to create a wealth of content with fantastic sound and motion design for the CD. Additional marketing devices on the mini-disk included a screensaver, desktops, and fielding and pitching tips videos. The 3-inch mini-disk contained nearly an hour of video upon completion.

Connection Made

A world-class mini-CD was designed and built for Rawlings. Over 25,000 copies were delivered into the hands of Little Leaguers and coaches nationwide. The mini-CD was also distributed through retail partners like Eastbay and Dick’s Sporting Goods, and through youth sporting league events nationwide throughout the regular season.
