RAWLINGS – SPRING TRAINING VIDEO

Client Opportunity:

Rawlings is the glove of choice for most of today’s professional baseball players. This story needed to be told in a compelling and engaging manner. The average fan would be hard pressed to know the type of glove used by their favorite players. One creative approach to telling the Rawlings story was to have the marquee professional players who compete day in and day out talk about their Rawlings glove, capture that discussion on video and then share it on the Rawlings website.

How Iona Helped:

A crew of four (2 cameramen, 1 audio engineer and a director) from The Iona Group traveled to Florida for Spring Training. This team met the Rawlings client in Florida and proceeded to travel throughout the state interviewing 19 players in four days. The crew visited two camps per day interviewing up to 4 players per camp. Each interview was shot using multiple cameras/multiple angles. The raw footage was then brought back and edited for use on the Rawlings website.

Connection Made:

Rawlings recognized the value in capturing their pros talking about their gloves and in using high quality video to accomplish the task. The player interviews are being used on the Rawlings website as well as being repurposed for download to PSP or video iPod.
